The creative brief for a rebrand and logo design. Renovate Australia recognised a shifting target market and is set to adjust accordingly.
Run time: 2:00mins
Beautiful shots of the reef from close up underwater fish and corals eventually to drone footage (reveals Lin on deck).
The coral reef, rainforest of the sea. Around the world, these incredible underwater ecosystems support life on our planet; from oceans to countryside and even our cities. Among the 100s of coral reefs around the world, the superstar is Australia’s own: The Great Barrier Reef.
Cut to Lin introducing herself (on deck of a boat moving across the water?)
I’m Lin Sutherland. For over 20 years I’ve been documenting one of our most spectacular living treasures, the Great Barrier Reef. My dedication to protecting vulnerable habitats in places like
(place name), (place name) and (place name) has resulted in my producing and hosting more than 80 programs distributed and viewed around the world on the Discovery Network, the ABC, Nine Network Australia, the Travel Channel Europe, France 5 and ZDF in Germany.
cutaways from Lin’s other shows include snippets of opening credits?
more stunning shots of underwater - match images to species list
UNESCO world heritage listed, Australia’s Great Barrier Reef is home to 600 types of soft and hard corals, more than 100 species of jellyfish, 1625 types of fish, 133 varieties of sharks and rays, and more than 30 species of whales and dolphins.
Dramatic juxtaposition - images of coral bleaching (before after shots) and dredging ominous music.
With rising temperatures, coral bleaching, dredging and mining we could see up to 90% of corals and fish species die within the next (dramatic pause) 30 years!
People cleaning up the environment, expert interviews.
Maintaining the Great Barrier Reef’s breathtaking biodiversity is essential for the health, not only of our oceans, but of the entire planet.
My new documentary series, focused on healing the Reef, filmed in partnership with Ozflix Australia, explores achievable strategies for restoring one of the worlds greatest and most vital natural environments.
Best of New footage.
Cut back to Lin, imploring, inviting on a beautiful beach.
Please join me in creating this exciting new series that will attract a broad, world-wide audience.
The future of any successful business needs to be green.
Together, let’s heal the reef.
REAL ESTATE, TECHNOLOGY AND THE VIRUS
Almost all aspects of our everyday lives have been thrown into confusion while we work as a community to lessen the impact of the novel coronavirus.
It’s fantastic to take note of the silver linings where they occur and what I’ve noticed is how quickly the housing market has responded to changes in the industry. Over the weekend, agents showed us just how much they have managed to adapt in a very short time,
Observing guidelines on social distancing that protect our community, agents transferred their auctions online. Although there were a couple of glitches, the online auctions seem to have been largely successful, with some homes selling for more than anticipated.
With everything going on, you wouldn’t expect that house sales are actually up compared to this time last year, but they are, by 8%! Another clever adaptation from the housing industry is virtual appraisals and virtual walkthroughs. Like many agencies, realestateaustralia.com.au offers digital appraisals conducted by experienced professionals with a turn around of 48 hours. Likewise, homes for sale can be viewed via an app. The agent uses their phone to record a walkthrough of the property which is accessible 24 hours a day for potential buyers.
Moving forward, it will be interesting to see which of these technologies we choose to continue with. In the meantime, a hearty congratulations to those in the housing industry who have found a way to keep on during these challenging times.
THE SECRET TO SELLING YOUR HOME FAST?
It’s probably not what you think.
You’ve finished your renovations and it’s time to put your property on the market. You’ve probably got a detailed description of the property complemented by a collection of stunning photos to upload to your online ad - a freshly painted living room, an updated bathroom, all new cabinetry in the kitchen. These are sure to excite the potential buyer, and feed their day dreams of owning a perfect home. But before you hit send, have you forgotten something?
Most home buyers begin their house hunt online. While they might have fallen in love with the look of the house, what they need to know is how it flows. That’s why you should absolutely include a floor plan in your property listing.
With a floor plan, buyers have a better idea of how they will live in the space. They can visualise their movement from the kitchen to the living room, to the bathrooms and bedrooms. A floor plan has the added effect of depersonalising a house. The buyer can look at the floor plan and start imagining their own furniture set up the way they like.
Sometimes a buyer is looking for a specific layout to suit their needs. They aren’t as interested in fancy photos as they are in a layout that suits their needs exactly. By including a floor plan in your property listing, you’ve covered both sections of your market.
If you’ve been renovating your property for a profitable sale, you probably have floor plans on hand already to give to your agent. But if you have an older home, your real estate should be able to organise to have a plan drawn for you. Make sure the plan is neat and easy to read with each of the rooms labelled.
After you’ve put in so much effort renovating your home to sell, don’t overlook this key strategy that can add interest and value to your home once it’s on the market.
Shirtless Scott Eastwood? Yes Please
Oh Scott Eastwood, what are you trying to do to us? Spotted running in nothing more than jeans and a belt, is he just trying to get our attention? Well, it worked. Our curiosity is piqued and we can't look away.
Yes, Scott is looking good from his head to his bare toes, a body that is out of control. And where did he get that body? Probably his father. After launching his acting career in Flags of Our Fathers in 2006, Scott Eastwood appeared in papa Clint’s films Gran Torino and Invictus. You might also recognize him from Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D.
Scott Eastwood has more in the works, anticipating the release of a new romance movie, The Longest Ride, in which he stars alongside Britt Robertson.
Stay tuned, also, for a parody of top -rating reality show The Bachelor being produced over at Funny or Die. Yes, Scott is in want of a loyal, loving… dog. Competition is fierce, with contestants letting their passions off leash-- sloppy kisses and altercations over who gets the bone.
Ever humble, Eastwood says, 'I'm just looking for a special dog who is willing to play, take naps, no drama and that won't stare at me when I'm having sex – with a woman, of course.'
BEST LOOKS FROM RUPAUL DRAG RACE SEASON PREMIERE
'Bitch I'm from New York, and you can wear fur in spring. Kay?' Was the snappy retort from Pearl, after she gracefully marched down the catwalk in RuPaul’s latest season, number 7, of Drag Race. All in all, there is some serious fashion going on this time round, which is appropriate since the premiere falls smack bang in the middle of fashion season. For the first challenge, RuPaul asked the queens to show their fierce selves via their best spring/summer couture.
The ladies stepped up to the challenge. Movies provided the inspiration for a number of looks. Max, from Minneapolis, seemed to have spliced the vintage style of Daisy from the Great Gatsby with the robot from classic sci-fi film Metropolis. Miss Fame bore flaming red hair reminiscent of Poison Ivy, which cascaded over some impressive 1930s style shoulder pads. Kennedy Davenport, a renowned queen from Texas, was turning it up in a southern belle silhouette gown that featured psychedelic pink and yellow print that looked something like Russ Meyer’s sexploitation film Valley of the Dolls.
Other queens took their inspiration from various other sources, like Jayden Diore, who wore a Beyonce –styled, shimmering gold one -piece. Violet Chachiki looked like she’d just arrived from the world’s most glamorous gymkhana. She sported black sequins and tartan plaid, riding gloves, and a cap with a hole for her ponytail.
Take yourself to one of the public bar screenings of Ru Paul’s Drag Race when the first episode of the current season debuts on Monday March 9th.
NEW BREW: SAM ADAMS REBEL RIDER SESSION IPA
Last year, Samuel Adams released the Rebel IPA -- packaged and flavored to break from the company’s passé image and attract the funky, off beat craft beer market.
Samuel Adams has followed up that release with this year’s new Rebel Rider Session IPA. The packaging looks almost the same, except the IPA is red and the Session IPA is blue. So what is the difference?
For IPA lovers the sessions can be somewhat controversial. Kevin Gibson explores the brouhaha while sampling the Rebel Session. Less malts lead to a fainter color, but with just as many hops, including Citra, Topaz, Cascade, you can still count on the taste.
So is this session IPA worth a test run? Check out the full review for Gibson’s final word on the subject https://www.alcoholprofessor.com/blog/2015/03/02/new-brew-sam-adams-rebel-rider-session-ipa/
WASHINGTON AND NEW ENGLAND DRINK PICKS FOR SUPER BOWL XLIX
It’s Super Bowl, and across the country, bars, barbeques, and parties are packed with neighbours, and friendly strangers. This year, anticipating a tense showdown between the Seahawks and the Patriots, Brian Petro went hunting for the best libations Seattle and Boston have to offer. In 3 categories -- wine, beer, and spirits-- Petro breaks down the stats.
Like the Super Bowl, this is a close competition. Washington is the third largest wine producing state in the country, offering drinks as fine as Chateau Ste. Michelle. But, Boston has its wineries, too. How does the award winning Boston Beer Company compare to Seattle’s Elysian Brewing, which is currently making a buzz? Is Seattle headed in the right direction with their innovative distilling methods, or has Boston got the better idea, looking to resurrect traditional techniques?
With both Seattle and Boston boasting champion teams, which can claim the best brew? Find the answer here - https://www.alcoholprofessor.com/blog/2015/01/29/washington-and-new-england-drink-picks-for-super-bowl-xlix/
