Run time: 2:00mins
Beautiful shots of the reef from close up underwater fish and corals eventually to drone footage (reveals Lin on deck).
The coral reef, rainforest of the sea. Around the world, these incredible underwater ecosystems support life on our planet; from oceans to countryside and even our cities. Among the 100s of coral reefs around the world, the superstar is Australia’s own: The Great Barrier Reef.
Cut to Lin introducing herself (on deck of a boat moving across the water?)
I’m Lin Sutherland. For over 20 years I’ve been documenting one of our most spectacular living treasures, the Great Barrier Reef. My dedication to protecting vulnerable habitats in places like
(place name), (place name) and (place name) has resulted in my producing and hosting more than 80 programs distributed and viewed around the world on the Discovery Network, the ABC, Nine Network Australia, the Travel Channel Europe, France 5 and ZDF in Germany.

more stunning shots of underwater - match images to species list
UNESCO world heritage listed, Australia’s Great Barrier Reef is home to 600 types of soft and hard corals, more than 100 species of jellyfish, 1625 types of fish, 133 varieties of sharks and rays, and more than 30 species of whales and dolphins.
Dramatic juxtaposition - images of coral bleaching (before after shots) and dredging ominous music.
With rising temperatures, coral bleaching, dredging and mining we could see up to 90% of corals and fish species die within the next (dramatic pause) 30 years!
People cleaning up the environment, expert interviews.
Maintaining the Great Barrier Reef’s breathtaking biodiversity is essential for the health, not only of our oceans, but of the entire planet.
My new documentary series, focused on healing the Reef, filmed in partnership with Ozflix Australia, explores achievable strategies for restoring one of the worlds greatest and most vital natural environments.
Best of New footage.
Cut back to Lin, imploring, inviting on a beautiful beach.
